Last updated 26 August 2026 by Rishi Kumar, Senior Education Researcher and Founder, EdifyEdu. Every fee below was checked against our verified university records on 26 August 2026. Universities that publish only a broad range, rather than a single confirmed figure, were left out rather than estimated. Accreditation reflects our NAAC and NIRF records. EdifyEdu accepts no referral commission from any university.
Half the online BCA market charges roughly the same thing. Sixteen of the thirty universities below sit between Rs 99,800 and Rs 1,39,000, which is a narrow band for a three-year degree.
That changes how you should choose. With an online MBA or B.Com the fee separates the options. With a BCA it mostly does not, so accreditation, ranking and the specialisation on offer are what actually differ.
- Cheapest verified: Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, a NAAC A++ university
- Most expensive: Chandigarh University
- Where most sit: 16 of 30 universities fall in a single band close to Rs 1.2 lakh
- Duration: 3 years, 6 semesters, at every university listed
- Validity: Every university here is UGC-DEB approved for online delivery
- Best value on the table: a NAAC A++ university ranked in the NIRF top 30, at well under the median fee

Every Verified Online BCA Fee, Cheapest First
These are the universities whose BCA fee we could confirm to a single figure for the full three-year programme.

Why Price Is Not the Deciding Factor Here
Look at the middle of the table. Nine universities charge between Rs 1,29,000 and Rs 1,47,000, and their accreditation ranges from NAAC A+ with no ranking to NAAC A++ inside the NIRF top 60.
You are paying similar money for meaningfully different institutions. That is the opposite of the online B.Com market, where the cheapest option costs a fraction of the most expensive one and the choice really is about budget.
When thirty programmes cost about the same, the fee stops being information. Accreditation and ranking start doing the work.
The Standout on This Table
Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation charges Rs 79,000. It holds NAAC A++ and sits at NIRF University rank 26.
Twenty-one of the thirty universities here cost more. Of the four ranked above it, every one costs at least twice as much. If you want a well-ranked, well-accredited BCA without paying premium-private prices, that combination is the strongest thing on this page.
Two others deserve a mention for different reasons. Lovely Professional University at Rs 1,22,400 pairs NAAC A++ with NIRF rank 31 and a wide specialisation menu. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham at Rs 1,65,000 is the highest-ranked option at NIRF 8, which matters if you plan to study abroad later.
The Genuinely Cheap Options
Three universities sit well below the pack, and none of them is a compromise on validity.
IGNOU charges Rs 49,800 for the full degree and holds NAAC A++. For a student who needs a recognised computer applications degree and will drive their own learning, nothing on this table beats it on cost.
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University comes in lower still at Rs 45,000, also with NAAC A++. Integral University at Rs 75,300 is the cheapest option here that is not an open university, which suits students who want more structured teaching.
What you give up at this end is service rather than standing. Expect fewer live sessions, lighter placement support and slower admissions than a private university built around online delivery.
What to Look At Instead of Price
The specialisation actually offered. BCA is where AI, data science and cybersecurity tracks have appeared fastest. If you want one of those, check that the university teaches it as a real specialisation rather than a single elective.
NAAC grade, with the CGPA. A++ is not a marketing phrase, it is a scored assessment. Two universities on this table charge similar fees with a full grade between them.
Whether a NIRF rank exists at all. Most online providers carry none. A rank belongs to the university that grants your degree, not to the online mode, but it is still an independent signal that a brochure cannot manufacture.
What happens after. If you intend to go on to an MCA or a developer role, ask what the capstone project involves and whether the university runs any placement support at all.

Final Word
The online BCA market has converged on a price. Just over half of these thirty universities charge within about forty thousand rupees of each other, so paying more does not reliably buy you a better institution.
Work the other way round instead. Decide the accreditation floor you want, check whether a NIRF rank matters for your plans, confirm the specialisation is real, and only then compare fees among the programmes that pass. On this table that approach points at a small number of universities, and several of them are not the expensive ones. If you are still weighing the format itself, read the guide to online degree validity in India first.

Frequently Asked Questions
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University at Rs 45,000 for the full three-year degree is the cheapest verified figure in our records, followed by IGNOU at Rs 49,800 and Karnataka State Open University at Rs 52,000. All three are UGC-DEB approved, and the first two hold NAAC A++. Confirm the current fee with the university before you pay.
Verified fees run from Rs 45,000 to Rs 1,77,000 for the full three-year programme, but the market is clustered. Sixteen of the thirty universities we verified charge between Rs 99,800 and Rs 1,39,000, so most options sit within about forty thousand rupees of each other.
Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation at Rs 79,000 is the standout. It holds NAAC A++ and sits at NIRF University rank 26, yet twenty-one of the thirty universities on our table cost more, and every university ranked above it costs at least twice as much.
Yes, provided the university is UGC-DEB entitled for online delivery in your admission year. UGC rules treat an online degree from an entitled university as equivalent to a conventional one for employment, government recruitment and postgraduate study. Entitlement is granted intake by intake, so check the current list at deb.ugc.ac.in.
Usually not. Because just over half the market sits in one narrow band, the fee rarely separates the options. Set the accreditation level you want, decide whether a NIRF rank matters for your plans, confirm the specialisation is genuinely taught, and compare fees only among the programmes that clear those tests.
Three years across six semesters at every university in this comparison. Most universities allow a longer maximum duration if you need to spread the programme out, which suits students who are working alongside their studies.
Yes. A UGC-DEB approved online BCA qualifies you for an MCA and other postgraduate computing programmes at recognised Indian universities on the same basis as a conventional degree. Some MCA programmes ask for mathematics at 10+2 or graduation level, so check that requirement before you enrol.
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham at NIRF University rank 8 is the highest-ranked option on our table, at Rs 1,65,000. Symbiosis follows at rank 24 and Koneru Lakshmaiah at rank 26. NIRF does not rank online programmes separately, so a rank belongs to the university granting the degree rather than to the online mode.
