About This Specialisation
Financial technology is taught two ways: as global theory, or as the specific rails your market actually runs on. This one is the second, which makes it more immediately useful in India and less portable elsewhere.
The subjects are Digital Payments, UPI and India's Financial Infrastructure, Blockchain Management, Machine Learning in FinTech, Artificial Intelligence in FinTech, Entrepreneurship in FinTech, and FinTech Innovation and Transformation in Financial Services.
Teaching UPI and India Stack as a named subject is the right call. That infrastructure is the substrate for most Indian financial products now, and understanding how it works is more useful than a general survey of global payment systems.
Machine Learning in FinTech and AI in FinTech cover the two places automation actually earns its keep in this sector: credit decisioning and fraud detection.
Be clear on direction. This points toward product, payments and digital lending roles. If your target is credit appraisal, treasury operations or branch banking leadership, the Banking and Insurance specialisation fits better.
Two things are common to every Chandigarh specialisation and worth pricing separately from the subject list. AI for Managers appears in all of them, so the AI exposure is not unique to the technical tracks. And the programme runs in two tiers, where the higher tier bundles PwC co-taught modules and additional certification. Ask which tier your fee quote covers, because the subject list does not change between them.
Chandigarh University's NAAC A+ accreditation cycle carried a validity date of September 2026, so confirm the current grade at naac.gov.in before you rely on it.
Fees quoted here are indicative and change between intakes. Confirm the current figure, which tier it buys, the early-bird terms and what sits outside the tuition with the university in writing before you pay.

Skills You Develop
You should finish able to specify a financial product that works on the rails available to you and clears the rules that govern them.
Digital Payments and the UPI and India Stack subject cover the infrastructure layer: how a transaction actually moves, who sits in the chain, where the economics land, and what identity and consent layers allow.
Machine Learning in FinTech and Artificial Intelligence in FinTech cover credit scoring, fraud detection and automated decisioning, including the fairness and explainability problems that come with automating a lending decision.
Blockchain Management covers distributed ledgers and where they genuinely help rather than where they are merely mentioned.
Entrepreneurship in FinTech and the Innovation and Transformation subject cover business model design and the partnership structures between incumbents and newer entrants, which is how most of this sector actually operates.
How Chandigarh University Compares for FinTech
Comparing Chandigarh Online MBA FinTech against peer programmes:
vs NMIMS Online MBA Finance: NMIMS Finance at Rs 1,96,000-2,20,000 covers capital markets, corporate finance, and financial derivatives with strong Mumbai BFSI brand recognition. NMIMS does not offer a dedicated FinTech specialisation. For traditional Mumbai banking and capital markets careers, NMIMS Finance carries stronger brand weight. CU FinTech is the more targeted choice for professionals at RBI-regulated FinTech companies, payment aggregators, NBFC digital lenders, and UPI-layer companies , sectors requiring India-specific regulatory knowledge (RBI sandbox, UPI infrastructure, FEMA digital payments) that NMIMS Finance does not cover at this depth.
vs Amity Online MBA FinTech-related tracks: Amity does not offer a dedicated FinTech specialisation at this depth. CU is the stronger choice for candidates specifically targeting FinTech roles with a dedicated syllabus including UPI, Blockchain, and AI in FinTech.
vs JAIN Online MBA Banking and Finance: JAIN's Banking and Finance specialisation at Rs 1,75,000-1,96,000 covers commercial banking, investment banking, and risk management. JAIN also offers an AI for Finance track with AI-augmented finance subjects. Neither is a dedicated FinTech programme. CU FinTech's India-specific regulatory content , UPI infrastructure, RBI sandbox framework, NBFC digital regulations, Blockchain in Indian payments , is more targeted for professionals at FinTech startups, payment companies, and digital BFSI roles. NIRF Management rank 32 gives CU stronger recognition at corporate FinTech employers.
