About This Specialisation

Chitkara University, Rajpura (Punjab) offers an Online MBA with Finance specialisation. The programme holds NAAC A+ accreditation, NIRF #78 ranking, and full UGC-DEB approval.

Finance remains the most popular MBA specialisation in India, and the market for online Finance MBAs is competitive. Chitkara enters this space with a well-regarded campus brand in Punjab and strong industry ties in the Chandigarh-Mohali corridor. The Finance specialisation covers investment analysis, banking and financial services, tax planning, financial modelling, risk management, and corporate finance.

At Rs 2,00,000, Chitkara sits between budget options like Sharda (Rs 1,54,500) and premium programmes like MUJ (~Rs 1,80,000) or Amity (Rs 2,25,000). The NAAC A+ accreditation gives it credibility parity with many higher-priced competitors.

The university's strength in pharma and technology creates a unique crossover: Finance graduates from Chitkara often find roles in pharma company treasury, healthcare project finance, and tech-finance functions in the Punjab IT corridor.

How Chitkara University Compares for Finance

Comparing Chitkara Online MBA Finance against peer programmes:

vs JAIN Online MBA Finance (~Rs 1,75,000): JAIN is ~Rs 25,000 cheaper with NAAC A++ and a well-established online brand. JAIN has a larger alumni network and stronger pan-India brand recognition. For pure Finance MBA value, JAIN is the stronger option. Chitkara competes on Punjab regional strength and pharma-finance crossover opportunities.

vs MUJ Online MBA Finance (~Rs 1,80,000): MUJ is ~Rs 20,000 cheaper with the Manipal brand, which carries strong recognition in banking and corporate hiring. MUJ's curriculum depth and Manipal alumni network give it an edge. Chitkara is preferable if you value NAAC A+ credentials at a comparable price and are based in North India.

vs Sharda Online MBA Finance (Rs 1,54,500): Sharda is Rs 45,500 cheaper with NAAC A+ and NIRF #87. Both are NCR-adjacent Punjab/UP universities. Sharda wins clearly on fee. Chitkara's advantage is the stronger campus brand reputation and better industry connections in the Chandigarh corridor.

vs CU Online MBA Finance (Rs 1,65,000): Chandigarh University at NIRF #19 with PwC and Harvard partnerships is Rs 35,000 cheaper. CU is the stronger option on ranking, price, and partnerships. Chitkara competes only on specialisation breadth (offering niche specs like Cyber Security and Pharma Management alongside Finance).

Student Reviews — Finance

Three reviews from Chitkara Online MBA Finance students. Ratings reflect individual experience.

Gaurav T.Chandigarh · 2025

I chose Chitkara because of its campus reputation in the Chandigarh region. My banking employer in Punjab recognised the degree immediately during the internal promotion process. The Finance curriculum covers standard MBA subjects well. At Rs 2,00,000, the fee is fair for NAAC A+ but not the cheapest option in the market.

Liked: Chitkara's campus brand in Punjab translates to good regional recruiter recognition. NAAC A+ passed employer verification without issues

Disliked: CU at Rs 1,65,000 with PwC modules is a hard competitor at a lower price

Meera S.Delhi · 2024

The Finance content is solid and covers what banking and corporate finance employers expect. Tax planning and investment management were the strongest modules. The Rs 50,000 per semester structure made it manageable alongside a full-time job. I would have preferred bundled certifications at this price point, which competitors like CU and JAIN offer.

Liked: Rs 50,000 per semester is easy to budget. Investment management and risk modules were practical

Disliked: Online brand is newer. Outside Punjab, Chitkara's name carries less weight than Amity or Manipal

Karan J.Ludhiana · 2025

As a working professional in Punjab, Chitkara was a natural choice. The Finance curriculum is standard MBA fare. The limitation is pricing. At Rs 2,00,000 with no scholarships or bundled extras, competitors like Sharda (Rs 1,54,500) and CU (Rs 1,65,000) offer better value. Chitkara's strength is the campus brand, but for online students, that brand premium is harder to justify.

Liked: UGC-DEB approval and NAAC A+ are solid credentials for the degree

Disliked: Rs 2,00,000 without any scholarship or perks is a limitation. Sharda offers NAAC A+ Finance at Rs 1,54,500
