About This Specialisation

Chitkara University, Rajpura (Punjab) offers an Online MBA with Marketing specialisation. The programme holds NAAC A+ accreditation, NIRF #78 ranking, and full UGC-DEB approval.

Marketing is consistently one of the top two MBA specialisations by enrollment in India. The online MBA marketing space is well-served by multiple NAAC A+ universities, making competition intense. Chitkara brings its Punjab campus brand strength and industry connections in the Chandigarh-Mohali corridor.

The Marketing specialisation covers consumer behaviour, brand management, digital marketing, sales and distribution management, marketing analytics, integrated marketing communications, product management, and retail marketing. The curriculum blends traditional marketing fundamentals with digital strategy.

At Rs 2,00,000, Chitkara is positioned above CU (Rs 1,65,000) and below Amity (Rs 2,25,000). The fee is competitive for a NAAC A+ programme, though competitors like CU offer lower pricing with higher NIRF rankings.

Punjab's FMCG, pharma, and manufacturing sectors provide regional marketing career opportunities. The Chandigarh-Mohali region also has a growing digital marketing and startup ecosystem.

How Chitkara University Compares for Marketing

Comparing Chitkara Online MBA Marketing against peer programmes:

vs JAIN Online MBA Marketing: JAIN has NAAC A++ with a well-established online brand and a large marketing alumni network. Fee is competitive. For pan-India marketing career value, JAIN is the safer option. Chitkara competes on Punjab regional strength and its niche specialisation portfolio.

vs MUJ Online MBA Marketing (~Rs 1,80,000): MUJ is ~Rs 20,000 cheaper with the Manipal brand, which is well-recognised by FMCG and corporate marketing recruiters. MUJ has the edge on brand recognition and alumni network. Chitkara is preferable for Punjab-based professionals who value regional familiarity.

vs CU Online MBA Marketing (Rs 1,65,000): Chandigarh University is Rs 35,000 cheaper with NAAC A+ and NIRF #19. CU also offers Harvard ManageMentor and PwC partnerships. CU is the stronger option on ranking, price, and partnerships. Both are Punjab-based, but CU's higher rank gives it a clear advantage.

vs LPU Online MBA Digital Marketing (~Rs 1,20,000): LPU has NAAC A++ at a significantly lower fee. If digital marketing is the specific focus, LPU offers dedicated digital marketing specialisation at almost half the price. Chitkara's broader marketing curriculum is better for brand management and general marketing leadership roles.

Student Reviews — Marketing

Three reviews from Chitkara Online MBA Marketing students. Ratings reflect individual experience.

Priya N.Chandigarh · 2025

I chose Chitkara over CU because of personal campus familiarity and the broader marketing curriculum. The brand management and consumer behaviour modules were taught with current Indian market examples. The digital marketing content covered SEO, paid ads, and social media strategy at a practical level. Rs 2,00,000 is fair for NAAC A+ but not the cheapest option.

Liked: Strong Punjab campus brand helped with employer recognition in the Chandigarh region. Digital marketing and brand management modules were practical

Disliked: CU Marketing at Rs 1,65,000 with Harvard certificate is a strong competitor at a lower price

Vikash R.Delhi · 2024

The marketing curriculum covers both traditional brand management and digital marketing. Marketing analytics was a highlight. The main limitation is Chitkara's online brand recognition beyond Punjab. For pan-India FMCG or e-commerce marketing hiring, JAIN or MUJ carry more weight. For North India roles, Chitkara is a solid NAAC A+ choice.

Liked: NAAC A+ credential passed employer verification for an internal promotion in FMCG marketing

Disliked: Online brand recognition is weaker than JAIN or Manipal outside North India

Suman G.Ludhiana · 2025

The marketing content is standard and covers what employers expect. The gap is in extras. At Rs 2,00,000, I expected at least one industry certification bundle (Google Ads, Meta Blueprint, HubSpot). CU and JAIN offer more at similar or lower price points. Chitkara works best for Punjab-based professionals who already have employer support for the credential.

Liked: Semester payment of Rs 50,000 is budget-friendly. Product management module was relevant

Disliked: Rs 2,00,000 without bundled Google or Meta certifications. Limited placement support for online students
