About This Specialisation

JIIT's Online MBA in Finance has one of the deepest finance curricula in the sub-₹2L online MBA segment. Semester 3 covers six finance-specific subjects (security analysis, financial statement analysis, project appraisal, derivatives/risk management, fixed income, and behavioural finance) alongside mandatory Internship/OJT and an AI in Business core course. Semester 4 adds working capital management and financial analytics with a Major Project.

The inclusion of Behavioural Finance as a standalone subject is uncommon in online MBA programmes at this fee point. Most competitors cover behavioural finance as a module within a broader subject, not as a dedicated course. Fixed Income Securities as a standalone subject is also rare outside premium programmes.

Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida is a deemed university established in 2001. The institute's core identity is tech-adjacent, which shows in the mandatory AI in Business subject across all specialisations. NAAC A accredited and UGC-DEB approved.

At ₹1,75,000 course fee (₹1,82,000 all-in including exam and registration fees), the programme is mid-tier. No scholarships are offered. No bundled perks (Coursera, LinkedIn Learning, etc.).

EdifyEdu verifies data independently and takes no commission from any university.

Student Reviews — Finance

Three reviews from JIIT Online MBA Finance students. Ratings reflect individual experience.

Ankit S.Noida · 2024

I work in a fintech startup in Noida. The derivatives, financial analytics, and project appraisal subjects were directly applicable. The mandatory internship in Sem 3 was genuinely useful for building portfolio evidence. At ₹1,82,000 all-in, the value is solid for the curriculum depth. The main limitation is brand recognition. Recruiters in NCR know JIIT for engineering but the online MBA is newer and less established.

Liked: 9 finance subjects in Sem 3 is genuinely deeper than any other online MBA I compared at this price point. Behavioural Finance and Fixed Income as standalone courses are rare

Disliked: JIIT online MBA brand recognition is limited. Most people know Jaypee for BTech, not MBA. This matters during interviews when the recruiter checks university name

Priya K.Delhi · 2024

I chose JIIT over MUJ because the finance curriculum is deeper. 9 Sem 3 subjects including behavioural finance and fixed income vs MUJ's 6. The trade-off is that MUJ has Coursera Plus and the Manipal brand. For my career in banking in NCR, the JIIT curriculum depth mattered more than the brand. The zero-cost EMI at ₹7,417/month made it manageable.

Liked: AI in Business as a core subject gave me vocabulary for fintech conversations that a purely traditional finance MBA would not cover

Disliked: No scholarships and no bundled perks. At a similar fee, MUJ offers Coursera Plus free, which adds tangible value

Suresh R.Lucknow · 2023

The curriculum is the strong point. The delivery is adequate but not exceptional. Some recorded lectures felt like campus recordings adapted for online. The mandatory internship was logistically challenging since I was already working full-time. I managed it by aligning it with a project at my company, but the programme could be clearer about how working professionals should handle this requirement.

Liked: Working Capital Management in Sem 4 was practical and applicable to my manufacturing finance role

Disliked: Career services for online MBA students could be more active. The on-campus placement infrastructure does not extend meaningfully to online learners

Jaypee Institute of Information Technology Online MBA FAQs

Yes. The Internship/OJT is a credited component in Semester 3. Working professionals typically align it with a project at their current employer. The programme allows OJT (On-the-Job Training) as an alternative to a separate internship placement.

  • AI in Business as a core subject matters for fintech or tech-adjacent finance roles.
  • Zero-cost EMI from ₹7,417/month fits your monthly budget.

Consider Alternatives If

  • Brand recognition matters for your employer. JIIT is known for BTech, not online MBA. MUJ or Amity have stronger MBA brand positioning.
  • MUJ at ₹1,80,000 with Coursera Plus offers similar fee with bundled perks and Manipal brand.
