About This Specialisation
MAHE's Online MBA in Finance covers both traditional corporate finance and contemporary fintech. Semester 3 covers security analysis and portfolio management (equity valuation, MPT, CAPM, portfolio construction), financial analytics (data-driven financial decision-making, financial modelling basics), and financial derivatives (options, futures, swaps, hedging strategies). Semester 4 adds fintech (blockchain in finance, digital payments, robo-advisory, regtech), fixed income securities (bond valuation, yield curves, credit risk), and corporate valuation (DCF, comparable analysis, M&A valuation).
The inclusion of fintech as a standalone subject alongside traditional finance subjects is a curriculum strength. Most competing finance MBAs either focus entirely on traditional finance or on fintech, but MAHE covers both in a single programme.
MAHE holds NIRF #3 University 2025, NAAC A++, and Institution of Eminence status. Coursera Plus is bundled free. At ₹2,92,000, the fee is premium but the NIRF #3 credential carries weight with BFSI employers who filter on university rank.
Work experience in reputed organisations is required. Fresh graduates can apply with an SOP video.
EdifyEdu verifies data independently and takes no commission from any university.

How Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) Compares for Finance
Comparing MAHE Online MBA Finance against peer programmes:
vs MUJ Online MBA Finance: MUJ at approximately ₹1,80,000 on the same platform. MAHE at ₹2,92,000 costs ₹1,12,000 more for the NIRF #3 and IoE brand. Both have similar LMS delivery. MAHE includes Coursera Plus. If your employer values the MAHE flagship brand specifically (not just Manipal group), the premium may be justified for BFSI roles where credential signalling matters.
vs Amrita Online MBA Finance: Amrita at ₹2,20,000 with NIRF #8 and NAAC A++. MAHE at ₹2,92,000 costs ₹72,000 more but carries NIRF #3 (vs #8). MAHE includes Coursera Plus; Amrita does not. Both hold NAAC A++. MAHE wins on NIRF positioning.
vs NMIMS Online MBA Finance: NMIMS at approximately ₹1,96,000 has strong Mumbai BFSI recruiter connections and legacy brand in finance. MAHE at ₹2,92,000 costs ₹96,000 more with stronger NIRF rank. For Mumbai-centric BFSI careers, NMIMS brand carries specific weight.
vs DPU Pune Online MBA Finance: DPU at ₹1,89,400 with NIRF #41 and NAAC A++. MAHE at ₹2,92,000 is substantially more expensive but carries NIRF #3 and IoE. DPU includes edX; MAHE includes Coursera Plus.

Three reviews from MAHE Online MBA Finance students. Ratings reflect individual experience.
I chose MAHE specifically for the NIRF #3 credential for my BFSI career. The finance subjects were rigorous. The fintech module covering blockchain, digital payments, and robo-advisory was a genuine differentiator. Coursera Plus supplemented nicely with Python for Finance courses. The cost is the main concern. Unless the MAHE flagship tag specifically matters for your employer, MUJ gives you nearly identical content delivery.
Liked: Corporate Valuation and Financial Derivatives subjects were well-structured. Coursera Plus gave access to CFA prep content alongside the MBA
Disliked: ₹2,92,000 is steep when MUJ offers a finance MBA on the same platform for ₹1,12,000 less. The MAHE brand premium should come with better placement infrastructure
I work in corporate treasury at a pharma exporter. The derivatives, international finance coverage in the core, and portfolio management subjects were directly applicable. NIRF #3 and IoE cleared every credential filter. The 15% corporate employee scholarship brought my effective fee down, which made the decision easier.
Liked: Security Analysis and Portfolio Management was taught by faculty with industry experience. The fixed income module was deeper than what most online MBAs cover
Disliked: Some pre-recorded lectures felt dated. The financial analytics module could include more hands-on Excel/Python modelling
The finance curriculum is comprehensive. The combination of traditional subjects (portfolio management, derivatives, fixed income) with fintech gives a balanced profile. My concern is that at ₹2,92,000, MAHE should offer more structured career support than what I received. The brand opens doors, but you still need to walk through them yourself.
Liked: Fintech module was current and relevant. MAHE brand recognition in South India is genuinely strong for banking interviews
Disliked: Career services could be more proactive. Got minimal direct placement support. Self-driven networking through the Manipal alumni community was more effective

Choose Finance If... / Consider Alternatives If...
Choose This If
- NIRF #3 and Institution of Eminence credential signalling matters for BFSI employer filters.
