How Sharda University Compares for Finance
Comparing Sharda Online MBA Finance against peer programmes:
vs NIU Online MBA Finance (₹97,600): NIU is ₹56,900 cheaper with 10 dedicated finance subjects including Blockchain and Financial Planning as standalone subjects. Both are NCR-based with NAAC A+. Sharda has NIRF #87 University 2025 ranking. NIU lacks NIRF ranking. Budget-conscious candidates should seriously consider NIU.
vs Galgotias Online MBA Finance (₹86,400): Galgotias is the cheapest NCR option at ₹68,100 less than Sharda, with a Master Thesis component. Sharda adds Financial Derivatives, Fintech, and International Financial Management as dedicated subjects. Galgotias wins on fee. Sharda wins on subject depth and NIRF rank.
vs Amity Online MBA Finance (₹2,25,000): Amity at NIRF #22 with 18 specialisations and a large pan-India alumni network costs ₹70,500 more. For BFSI hiring where brand premium matters at large banks and AMCs, Amity justifies the price gap. Sharda is a mid-tier alternative.
vs NMIMS Online MBA Finance (₹1,96,000-₹2,20,000): NMIMS carries strong Mumbai financial services brand recognition. At ₹40,000-₹65,000 more than Sharda, the brand premium is significant for investment banking and equity research hiring. Sharda is a cost-effective alternative without the brand equity.
vs DPU Online MBA Finance (₹1,89,400): DPU at NIRF #41 with NAAC A+ and edX partnership is ₹34,900 more than Sharda. DPU wins on accreditation grade and western India brand. Sharda wins on fee for NCR-based professionals.

Talk to counsellorStudent Reviews — Finance
Three reviews from Sharda Online MBA Finance students. Ratings reflect individual experience.
The finance curriculum covers the right mix of traditional and modern topics. Derivatives, M&A, and Security Analysis are strong subjects. Fintech is introductory but relevant. At ₹1,54,500 the fee is fair given NAAC A+ and NIRF rank, but NIU and Galgotias offer comparable finance depth at lower prices. I chose Sharda for the NIRF ranking, which helped during my internal promotion review.
Liked: Security Analysis and Portfolio Management was well-structured. The derivatives subject covered practical hedging scenarios, not just Black-Scholes theory
Disliked: No scholarships at all. At ₹1,54,500, NIU at ₹97,600 offers similar finance subjects for significantly less
The tax and international finance subjects were the strongest for my banking career. M&A was solid on valuation methods. The fintech subject was basic. Brand recognition is a limitation. At large banks, Sharda's online MBA is not as readily recognised as Amity or NMIMS. The NAAC A+ and NIRF rank helped during the verification stage with my employer.
Liked: Direct and Indirect Taxes subject was practical. International Financial Management covered forex risk in a way I could apply to my export finance role
Disliked: EMI interest was not zero-cost. The admissions team did not make this clear upfront. Confirm before enrolling
I evaluated Sharda against DPU and JIIT. Sharda's ₹1,54,500 was the lowest of the three with comparable accreditation. The finance subjects are standard but well-delivered. No perks, no scholarships, no industry certifications bundled. The value is in the degree and accreditation, not the extras. Self-driven job search is necessary.
Liked: NAAC A+ and NIRF #87 gave me confidence in the degree's validity. The M&A subject was directly relevant to my corporate finance work
Disliked: Career services for online students are minimal. The placement support is focused on campus students in Greater Noida
